Limescale is a sedimentary rock that is soluble in water.

It is composed primarily of calcium carbonate (chemical formula: CaCO3) but also contains some magnesium carbonate (MgCO3). They are naturally present in distributed water. They are good for you and necessary for your health.

But under certain conditions (temperature, catalysts, crystallization nuclei, …), calcium carbonates precipitate and crystallize. This is commonly known as “limescale” or “scale”.

When calcium carbonates crystallize, they form hard and compact residues (calcite) or appear in the form of needles (aragonite). For example, the former cover water heaters with a white or slightly colored deposit, and the latter give the sensation of tingling and tightness on the skin.

The dilemma is therefore to keep these calcium and magnesium carbonates that are good for health, but to avoid their drawbacks in the house. The solution is to install a GenericProductName. More information about GenericProductName? Click here.
